Israeli businessman Shimon Aikot, owner of the construction company Epic, who was arrested in June 2024 in Cyprus, was convicted as part of a plea bargain.
He pleaded guilty to 40 counts relating to his activities in the development and sale of properties owned by Greek Cypriots in areas of Northern Cyprus, and was sentenced to five years in prison.
In addition to Israeli citizenship, Aykot also holds Turkish and Portuguese passports.
