Dozens of military graves in Berlin were desecrated with Russian propaganda symbols

Dozens of military graves were desecrated with Russian propaganda symbols at the cemetery in the northern Reinickendorf district of Berlin.

The Reinikendorf district office reported that 66 graves were painted purple with the “Z” symbol. In addition, another large tombstone reads “RUS”.

“Z” is the forbidden symbol of Russian offensive forces in Ukraine.

“These disgusting desecrations are an attack on our basic democratic values and the dignity of the dead. Those who desecrate military graves are also attacking our common historical consciousness and memory,” said Emine Demirbukken-Wegner, the mayor of the region.
