Shock for the residents of the Hessian state capital Wiesbaden: Due to bacterial contamination in the drinking water, thousands of people have to boil their tap water from now on and until further notice!
As ESWE Liefer AG announced, a bacteriological contamination was discovered during a routine check at a measuring point in the city center. Although other samples in the area were unremarkable, the health department nevertheless ordered the boiling requirement as a precautionary measure.
Further samples are being examined
The Wiesbaden water supply companies (WLW) and ESWE Liefer AG call on citizens to Water Boil before drinking or cooking until the all clear is given.
Important: The districts of Amöneburg, Kastel and Kostheim are not affected! For all other districts of Wiesbaden, the boiling water requirement applies immediately and until further notice.
In total, around 270,000 people are affected.
According to their own statements, WLW and ESWE Supply work closely with the health department and the water supplier Hessenwasser. Goal: It should be clarified as quickly as possible how contaminated the drinking water really is. Further water samples are currently being examined.
