Israel assures that the three bodies received on Friday from Gaza do not correspond to hostages

The three bodies delivered to Israel on Friday from the Gaza Strip and through the Red Cross They do not correspond to those of any hostage captured by Hamas on October 7, 2023, the Israeli army stated this Saturday.

A military source had already indicated on Friday night, at the time of the delivery of the bodies, that he did not believe they were the bodies of the hostages.

Hamas has so far returned the mortal remains of 17 of the 28 murdered hostages that he agreed to hand over within the framework of a truce agreement negotiated by the United States.

Among the 17 mortal remains returned are those of 15 Israelis, a Thai and a Nepali.

In accordance with the terms of the ceasefire agreement, For every Israeli handed over, Israel returned 15 bodies of Palestinians killed during the war, making a total of 225.

After the entry into force of the truce, Hamas released the last 20 surviving hostages on October 13 who were still captive in Gaza, and began the process of returning the bodies of the murdered hostages.

But the successive delays in the delivery of the bodies provoked the anger of the Israeli government, which accused Hamas of violating the ceasefire agreement. Relatives of the hostages also demanded tougher measures to force the Palestinian group to comply with the agreement.

Ten bodies of hostages from October 7 would still be in Gaza, as well as that of a soldier killed during a war in 2014.

Despite the entry into force of the truce on October 10Israel bombed Gaza twice, in retaliation for gunfire that killed three of its soldiers.

The October 19 airstrikes caused at least 45 deaths in Gaza, according to Palestinian sources. And Tuesday’s bombings left 104 dead, according to the same sources.
