Again farmer demonstrations on Dutch highways, hay bales set on fire

On Wednesday morning, demonstrating farmers stood at various places along highways in the Netherlands. Several roads have been completely blocked or blocked by actions, Rijkswaterstaat reports.

Farmers have dumped manure and rubble in various places on and near highways, especially in the center and east of the country. Hay bales were also set on fire. The A1 from Apeldoorn to Hengelo, among others, is closed due to rubble and manure on the road. In addition, several entrances and exits are closed, for example on the A12 at Bunnik, Maarsbergen and Veenendaal-West.

Rijkswaterstaat has called on additional road inspectors to ensure a safe situation on site. The service expects it to take a whole morning to get everything cleaned up. Road users are advised to check carefully before departure where the problems are and to take the situation on the road into account.
