The French prosecutor’s office reported that as part of an investigation into the activities of the French-Russian organization SOS Donbass, three people were arrested suspected of spying for Russia and disseminating Russian propaganda.
Those detained include a 40-year-old man who was caught on CCTV trying to establish himself at the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, a 40-year-old woman who heads SOS Donbass, and a 63-year-old man living in Saint-Denis, north of Paris.
The official goal of the organization is to help residents of Eastern Europe in the conflict zone. However, French intelligence services say that her actions pose a threat to the national interests of France, and she is conducting her activities on instructions from a foreign state.
Allegedly, the head of the organization, a native of Russia, tried to obtain information from managers of French companies about their economic activities of their companies. Another person was charged in this case. He remains under police surveillance and must report to the station once a week.
Let us note that the Russian “hybrid war”, combining propaganda activities and sabotage, raises significant concerns in Europe. Thus, in recent months, many airports have had to stop operating due to drones, which, according to suspicions, were launched by the Russian side.
