Guardsmen killed in an attack not far from the White House

West Virginia Governor Patrick Morrisey said two National Guard members who were wounded in Washington earlier Wednesday have died of their injuries.

“Those brave West Virginians lost their lives in the service of their country,” Morrisey wrote on Xu.

Two members of the National Guard were shot not far from the White House, US Homeland Security Minister Kristi Noem announced earlier on Platform X.

American President Donald Trump, who is in Florida on the occasion of Thanksgiving, wrote on Truth Social that the perpetrator who was seriously wounded “will pay dearly” for his son.

Due to that incident, the strictest security measures were introduced in the White House.

Trump is at a resort in Palm Beach, and Vice President JD Vance is in Kentucky.
