The Saudi publication Al-Sharq al-Awsat introduces readers to the message that the leadership of the Yemeni Houthis sent to the Lebanese Hezbollah group after Israel eliminated Hezbollah’s chief of staff, Haitham Ali Tabatbai.
The letter, signed by Asnar Allah leader Abd al-Malik al-Houthi, calls Tabatai’s death “a necessary self-sacrifice that obliges Hezbollah to return to the path of jihad.” Confidence is expressed that Israel does not intend to observe the ceasefire.
“The latest events in Gaza and southern Lebanon indicate that confrontation is a destiny that cannot be changed, and Hezbollah cannot give up its prominent role in this direction,” the message says.
The publication notes that the Houthis will be able to use a new outbreak of military conflict as a basis for resuming attacks on Israel and international shipping.
Let us remind you: a few days ago, the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, Ali Larijani, published a post in Arabic on the social network X, in which he expressed condolences over the death of Tabatbay and four other members of the group. “Your wishes have come true,” he wrote.
The official accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of adventurism. “He has reached the point where everyone comes to the conclusion: the only way out is direct confrontation with Israel,” Larijani said.
