Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with a group of bishops of the Armenian Apostolic Church.
Among them are Archbishop Abraham Mkrtchyan, Archbishop Arakel Karamyan, Archbishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan, Bishop Anushavan Zhamkochyan, Bishop Vrtanes Abrahamyan, Archbishop Navasard Kchoyan, Bishop Arakel Tigranyan, Bishop Gevorg Saroyan.
Pashinyan thanked the reverends for their “principled position” that they expressed publicly today. Pashinyan spoke about the role of the value system.
“I think that through the personification of the topic that you raised, we are dealing with a very important general agenda,” the Prime Minister said.
Today, pro-government media published a statement. According to those publications, the bishops issued a new statement, where they stated that the authenticity of the videos attributed to Arshak Archbishop Khachatryan was confirmed by the expert examination, and that the Catholicos of All Armenians “is trying to cover up Arshak’s blasphemous act at all costs.”
Referring to that statement in his briefing, Pashinyan invited the reverends to a meeting.
Already at the meeting, Pashinyan noted that the value of the state and society is also related to spiritual life. It was emphasized that our values are first of all related to our spiritual values, and in reality, what role do spiritual values play for us?
“I read your statement from that point of view, at least I saw the expression of the same level of concern,” Pashinyan emphasized.
“Freedom” was informed by the Mother See that it was a text composed with distortions.
