On the night of November 28 in Syria, in the area of the village of Bayt Jan (a suburb of Damascus, approximately 11 km east of the border with Israel), clashes occurred with the Israeli military, SyriaTV channel reports.
According to SyriaTV, at around 3:40 several IDF vehicles entered Bayt Jan and were “blocked by local residents,” after which clashes and gunfire erupted. It is alleged that IDF artillery and helicopters attacked targets in Bayt Jan, covering the military’s withdrawal. It is stated that at least two local residents were killed and some were wounded.
Syrian sources say that after several hours of standoff, Israeli forces withdrew from Bayt Jan and returned to areas near the truce line on the slopes of Hermon.
The IDF has not yet commented on this information. There is no information about casualties among the Israeli military.
Let us recall that on June 12, clashes with the Israeli military already took place in Bayt Jan. Then Syrian sources reported one local resident killed and seven detained. The IDF reported that Hamas terrorists had been arrested. The operation was carried out by soldiers of the 3rd Alexandroni Brigade.
