Trump rescinds Biden’s auto-signature orders

This move joins the cancellation of nearly 70 presidential orders by Biden immediately after Trump’s inauguration on January 20, and 19 more on March 14. In the past, Trump ordered an investigation into the use of the device in the White House under Biden, alleging a “conspiracy” designed to hide his cognitive decline through the use of automated signatures. Biden responded to these claims in July, calling them a “distraction” and emphasizing that he alone made the decisions during his term and that the claims against him are false.

Last month, House Republicans released a report criticizing Biden’s use of the device, but the report did not include clear evidence that his aides signed laws or directives without his knowledge. Autopen use is common among presidents, and in 2005 the Justice Department under George W. Bush because he is legal to sign laws. Last March, Trump admitted that he also used the device, but he claimed he only did so for “very unimportant papers.”
