Witkoff’s meeting with Putin will take place on December 2

Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that Vladimir Putin’s meeting with the Special Representative of the US President Steven Witkoff will take place on December 2 in the afternoon.

“The president will have several non-public meetings today in preparation for Russian-American contacts,” the official said. He also said: at the moment it is unknown whether statements will be made at the end of the meeting.

On November 31, negotiations between the American and Ukrainian delegations took place in Florida. At the end of them, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that they were “very productive,” but that “a lot of work still remains to be done” to reach a peace agreement on the war with Russia.

“The goal of the negotiations is not only to end hostilities, but also to end the war in a way that leaves Ukraine sovereign and independent, with the opportunity for real prosperity,” the American politician said, declaring the need to involve Russia in the negotiations.
