According to the reports, in Moscow they claim that France continues to examine options for direct involvement in the conflict, and this, among other things, through a government decree numbered 1030-2025 from last week. This order allows the use of private military companies, defined as “reference operators” of the French Ministry of Defense, for the purpose of assisting a third country in an armed conflict.
In Moscow, they stressed that Paris “should not deceive itself” into thinking that this step exempts it from responsibility, since according to the Interfax news agency, the foreign presence is required by Kiev mainly for the training of soldiers in the operation of Mirage fighter jets and the use of advanced Western weapons.
At the same time as the threats from Moscow, the commander of the French armed forces, General Fabian Mendon, warned that Europe is facing a sensitive historical phase that could lead to a direct conflict. At a conference of mayors in France, the general stated that the country cannot assume that peace will last forever.
He warned that if France fails because it is not ready to pay an economic price for defense production, or because it is not ready to accept the possibility of “building” sacrifice, it will be in danger. According to him, French intelligence estimates that Russia is preparing for a potential conflict with the West by 2030, based on the perception that NATO and European countries are an existential enemy.
