Kremlin: "The new US strategy is in line with the Russian one"

The new US security strategy “is largely in line with Russia’s vision”. Peskov showed appreciation for the passage of the document on the commitment not to expand NATO but he warned that, as always, the practical implications will count. “It certainly contains words unfavorable to a confrontation and favorable to dialogue and the establishment of positive relations,” the Russian official continued. “If on the one hand this is encouraging, on the other hand we know what happens when everything is written in a very beautiful and theoretical way but that structure of theirs called ‘deep state’ does everything in a different way”, Peskov said again, “that’s why we need to carefully follow the concrete application that this concept will find”.
