Zelensky arrived in Kupyansk, allegedly under the control of the Russian army

The President of Ukraine published in a telegram a video and a statement he filmed on a mobile phone in Kupyansk, Kharkov region, against the backdrop of a stele at the entrance to the city.

“Today is the Kupyansk direction, our soldiers who are achieving results for Ukraine here. Many Russians talked about Kupyansk – we see it. I congratulated the guys,” he said.

On November 20, the Chief of the Russian General Staff, Valery Gerasimov, reported to President Vladimir Putin about taking control of Kupyansk. On December 2, Gerasimov informed Putin that the Russian military was compressing a blocked Ukrainian Armed Forces group in the Kupyansk area.

The report of the Russian Ministry of Defense dated November 20 stated: “In the village of Kupyansk, Kharkov region, assault detachments of the 6th Army continue to clear city blocks and destroy the remnants of encircled enemy units.”
