Monologue about intergenerational comfort to be seen during the tenth Love At First Sight Festival in De Klap

The performance, with Dounia Mahammed on stage, explores intergenerational comfort: the idea that feelings of safety and trust can be passed on from generation to generation, in addition to the often discussed intergenerational traumas.

The text by Aya Sabi and Dounia Mahammed builds on the novel Half Life and balances between personal intimacy and universal questions. Shams, the protagonist, reflects on major life questions, but also on everyday moments, such as buying a scarf. Music by DJ Missawi and dramaturgy by Esther Severi reinforce the theme and provide a rhythmic, poetic performance.

The performance is part of the tenth anniversary of the Love At First Sight Festival (LAFS#10), which brings a mix of established artists and new talent. In addition to This is (not) the evolutionary theory of comfort, there are three premieres, a Special Love Edition of Waargebeurd and a closing Late Night party every evening.
