Eintracht captain Koch injured in the calf

Eintracht Frankfurt is threatened with the loss of its captain Robin Koch in the annual final. The defense chief and national player had to be substituted early in the 1-0 win against FC Augsburg. “Robin has had problems with his calf for two or three weeks. Today it really wasn’t working anymore. We have to see how he recovers,” said coach Dino Toppmöller after the game.

The Hessians will play at Hamburger SV next Saturday (3:30 p.m./Sky). “We won’t take any unnecessary risks because there are too many games on the schedule in January. We will do everything we can to ensure that he can be on the pitch on Saturday,” said Toppmöller.

It would be even more important for the 29-year-old Koch to play since his Belgian partner Arthur Theate is also missing next week. He received his fifth yellow card against Augsburg.
