Australian police questioned surviving terrorist after he woke up from anesthesia

Australian police officials say preliminary information suggests that father and son Sajid and Naveed Akram were inspired by the Islamic State group, but there is currently no evidence that anyone else was involved in the attack.

Australian Federal Police spokeswoman Chrissie Barrett stressed that “we are talking about the alleged actions of people who identified themselves with a terrorist organization, and not with Islam.”

Let us remind you that on Sunday, December 14, a terrorist attack was committed at the site of a mass Hanukkah celebration on Bondi Beach in the eastern suburbs of Sydney. Two terrorists armed with long-barreled rifles opened fire on the people.

At least 15 people were killed and more than 40 were injured. The attack was carried out by father and son – Sajid Akram (50) and Naveed Akram (24). One of the terrorists was shot dead, the other was seriously wounded.
