Donald Trump imposes entry restrictions into the United States on seven new countries and on Palestinians

A measure to make the country more “safe”, according to him. US President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that he would extend entry bans into the United States to nationals of six other countries including Syria, as well as Palestinians.

President Trump “has just signed a proclamation further restricting and limiting the entry of foreign nationals in order to protect the security of the United States,” the White House said in one of its social media accounts.

The new countries affected by this measure are Burkina Faso, Niger, Mali, South Sudan and Syria, while two other countries, Laos and Sierra Leone, are moving from partial to total restrictions, according to President Trump’s proclamation.

Palestinians also targeted

Palestinians with travel documents issued by the Palestinian Authority are also targeted.

The Trump administration had already imposed total restrictions targeting a dozen countries.

Regarding Syria, the measure comes a few days after a deadly attack against American soldiers in the center of the country.
