Gustavo Petro calls Nicolás Maduro a “dictator” but says he is not a drug trafficker as the United States claims

The president thus responded to a criticism on the journalist’s social network Angela Patricia Janiotwho asked: “Why is it that Gustavo Petro has no shame in calling the elected president of Chile, José Antonio Kast, a Nazi and fascist, and remains silent and afraid to call Nicolás Maduro a narco-dictator and usurper of power?”.

The administration of the American president, Donald Trumphas pointed out Maduro as the leader of the Cartel of the Suns —qualified by Washington as a terrorist group—, an accusation that the Venezuelan Government categorically denies.

Petro, considered an ally of Maduro, last month proposed a “shared transitional government” in Venezuela to solve the crisis that that country is experiencing and also avoid foreign intervention, as Caracas denounces after the air-naval deployment of USA in waters of Caribbean Sea under the pretext of combating drug trafficking.

In relation to Kast, from the far right, and his victory last Sunday in the second round of the Chilean presidential elections, Petro said that day that in America “the winds of death come” and added that “never“will give you his hand”to a Nazi and a Nazi’s son”, which prompted a letter of protest from the President’s Government Gabriel Boric.

Despite that note of protest, the Colombian president called again today “nazi” a Closet.

“What has won in Chile is not the right, do not be confused, what has won is the extreme right, which in Latin America is simple and pure fascism. They are Nazis and not just Francoists and they unleash, and do not repent, genocides“Petro wrote on the social network X.
