The court extended Vardan Ghukasyan’s detention for another three months

The court extended the detention of Gyumri Mayor Vardan Ghukasyan, accused of official forgery to receive a bribe, for another three months. The prosecutor presented such a petition.

Gorik Hovakimyan emphasized that Ghukasyan would hinder the investigation of the case and influence the witnesses by using his authority and influence.

The court, in fact, did not take into account the guarantee of the deputies.

Lawyer Zaruhi Postanjyan considers this decision illegal.

He is accused of accepting a bribe of 4 million drams and committing official forgery, he does not admit the guilt. Ghukasyan declared in the court that he is being subjected to political persecution.
