Business jet crashes in North Carolina, death reported

A Cessna C550 small aircraft crashed during takeoff at Statesville Airport in the US state of North Carolina. According to the local Fox News editorial office, several people died.

It is currently unknown how many people were on board the plane and whether there were any survivors. Police and rescue workers are on the scene, and Federal Aviation Administration officers are heading to the airport.

The plane belonged to a private aviation company associated with former NASCAR driver Greg Biffle.
