Greta Thunberg arrested in London for supporting terrorist organization Palestine Action

London police detained radical activist Greta Thunberg, who took part in a picket of solidarity with the Palestine Action movement, which is recognized as a terrorist organization in the UK.

In a video circulated by Prisoners for Palestine, the activist can be seen holding a sign that reads, “I support Palestine Action prisoners, I am against genocide.” The venue for the demonstration was the headquarters of Aspen Insurance, which provides insurance to the Israeli defense concern Elbit Systems.

“The building was damaged with hammers and red paint at around seven in the morning. A man and a woman were arrested on suspicion of criminal activity. They taped themselves nearby and specialists are working to free them to take them to the police,” the police press service said.

“A little later, a 22-year-old woman arrived at the scene. She was arrested for displaying a poster in support of the banned organization Palestine Action, which is contrary to Article 13 of the Anti-Terrorism Law,” the statement said.

In July, the British House of Commons supported a bill to declare Palestine Action a terrorist organization. 385 MPs voted in favor of the proposal, only 26 voted against it, including former Labor leader Jeremy Corbyn, expelled from the party for anti-Semitism.

The law would criminalize support for an anti-Israel group, and membership of Palestine Action or direct participation in its activities would be punishable by up to 14 years in prison.
