On Monday night, unknown assailants burned a Christmas tree and a nativity scene in Jenin. This was announced by the rector of the Church of the Holy Redeemer, Father Amer Dujbran, on social networks.

On behalf of the parish of the Latin Monastery, he condemned the actions of the vandals. The priest said the incident did not fit into the Palestinian and Christian cultural tradition, which is based on tolerance and peaceful coexistence. He stressed that this act also does not reflect the values ​​of the people of Jenin.

The incident in Jenin was condemned by the city governor Kamal Abu al-Ruba, the head of the Palestinian National Authority Mahmoud Abbas, as well as representatives of official and public organizations.
