Zelensky in his Christmas greeting: “We have one dream – for him to disappear”

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky congratulated his fellow citizens on Christmas, which in Ukraine, regardless of religious affiliation, is celebrated on December 25 – according to the Gregorian calendar.

He called the Russians atheists, recalling the massive air strike carried out on Ukraine on the eve of Christmas. “This is what those who have absolutely nothing to do with Christianity and anything human do,” said the head of state.

“Today we all have one dream and we make one wish for everyone. “So that he perishes,” everyone will say to themselves, but when we turn to God, of course, we ask more broadly, we ask for peace for Ukraine,” Zelensky said.

Despite the fact that the president did not specify who he meant, his words were perceived as a death wish for Russian leader Vladimir Putin. This is how the Western press and, in particular, The Washington Post comment on them.

Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov called this statement strange. “Uncultured, embittered, he looks like an inadequate person. I would like to wonder if he is capable of making adequate decisions towards a settlement,” the official said.
