“In the afternoon, all rivers will have reached their maximum height, but they will remain at that level for a long time as rain will continue until Saturday,” said Bruno Berthet, secretary general of the prefecture. “We have water levels that, despite everything, are not negligible, but they remain within the dikes or the usual course, there is no flooding,” he added.
“But this is about weather conditions, the difference is small. A blockage of cold or warm air, a few minutes longer and a few millimeters more is enough to make the consequences more serious. Unless the weather changes, we should be able to keep the situation under control,” said Berthet, who calls for vigilance for residents and people traveling through the department.
