Jordanian Air Force strikes drug targets in Syria

Syrian state television reported that the Jordanian air force carried out strikes against drug smuggling networks located in southern and eastern Syria.

The Jordanian army confirmed that factories used to produce drugs and weapons were attacked, but without specifying that the targets were located in Syria.

“Smugglers transporting weapons and drugs into Jordan were neutralized. The success of the operation was the result of accurate intelligence and cooperation with regional partners,” the statement said.

During the civil war, Captagon, which is also called the “drug of terror,” became the main source of income for the regime of Bashar al-Assad. It was actively supplied to neighboring countries. The Lebanese Hezbollah also uses drugs to finance its activities.
