King Charles wants Andrew out of his Royal Lodge, but he keeps delaying his move

Andrew Mountbaten Windsor was also formally ordered to terminate his lease on the Royal Lodge. Previously, the king had already taken measures to subtly have Andrew move, but he always found ways to remain in the Royal Lodge. Charles therefore decided in October to make the decision himself.

As a result, Andrew has to move to the Sandringham estate in Norfolk. In particular, it would concern Marsh Farm. This has not yet been confirmed by Buckingham Palace, but there has been a lot of activity in recent weeks and a no-fly zone has also been established. With five bedrooms and two reception rooms, Marsh Farm is anything but tiny, but Andrew has been used to the Royal Lodge with more than thirty bedrooms for more than twenty years.

According to sources from The Mirror the fallen prince therefore tries to postpone the move as long as possible. It was initially thought that Andrew would move into the estate early next year, once the royal Christmas festivities at Sandringham had ended. But it now appears that renovations must first be done before the move can take place. The former prince would refuse to look for another home in the meantime.

“The reality is he’s going to drag it out as long as he can because he doesn’t really want to leave. I think he’s probably going to be there for another six months. He’s in no rush to leave because he didn’t want to leave in the first place. So the longer he can drag it out, the longer he’s going to last,” royalty expert Phil Dampier told The Mirror.

It would also not be contractually easy at all to kick Andrew out. Andrew would have given his minimum 12-month notice on October 30, which would mean he could stay there until October next year.
