The Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanjahu has the distinction of US President Donald Trump announced with the Israel Prize. Netanyahu said at a joint press conference with Trump in Florida that Trump had “broken a lot of conventions.” Then, to their surprise, people realized “maybe he was right after all.”
Therefore, Israel will also break a convention and award Trump a prize that has never been awarded to a person without Israeli citizenship. Israeli Education Minister Joav Kisch announced this by telephone during lunch.
Israel wants to honor Trump for his achievements
Trump should be awarded the prize for “his outstanding contributions” to Israel and the Jewish people. This is the “overwhelming feeling of Israelis across the spectrum.” The Israel Prize is the country’s highest honor.
Trump welcomed the Israeli leader to his private residence at Mar-a-Lago in Florida on Monday to discuss the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. At the start of the meeting, Trump reiterated his call for the radical Islamic group Hamas to be disarmed. The radical Islamic Palestinian organization had recently emphasized that it would not give up its weapons.
The disarmament of Hamas is a central part of the second phase of the US ceasefire plan for the Gaza Strip.
