Three police officers killed in clashes with IS in western Turkey

Six Islamic State militants and three police officers were killed in a shootout during a police raid in Yalova province in northwestern Turkey.

Last night, security forces carried out 108 raids against IS-linked sites, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said. The operation was carried out in 13 provinces.

In the village of Elmalik, Yalova province, fire was opened on police officers. Three law enforcement officers were killed and eight were injured in the clash. Five women and six children were allegedly evacuated from the building.
