Turkish media reports that the famous model and actress Büse İskenderoğlu, winner of the Miss Türkiye 2016 title, was arrested in a drug case.
As part of the investigation, 17 people were detained, 12 of them were arrested, including Busse.
The investigation is being led by the Istanbul Chief Prosecutor’s Office. Those arrested are accused of “manufacturing and distributing narcotic substances,” “providing special places, equipment or materials to facilitate the use of narcotic or stimulant substances and taking measures to make it difficult to catch users,” “purchasing, accepting or possessing narcotic or stimulant substances for use,” “using narcotic or stimulant substances,” and “promoting prostitution” in relation to famous individuals.
It is unclear what role 31-year-old Busse Iskenderoğlu played in all this. But the media pay attention specifically to her arrest.
Büse İskenderoğlu was born in Ankara. In 2016, she won the Miss Turkey competition and represented her country at the Miss World competition. Later she became a popular fashion model and actress, and participated in many charitable and cultural events. No connections with criminal organizations have been previously reported.
