Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen has stated that he believes that US President Donald Trump is serious about occupying Greenland. He stressed that both Denmark and Greenland clearly reject his ambitions.
“Unfortunately, I think the words of the US president should be taken seriously when he says he wants Greenland,” he said.
The Prime Minister emphasized that he has made it clear what Denmark’s position is, and Greenland has repeatedly stated that it does not want to be part of the United States.
The head of the White House stated earlier that the US needs Greenland for defense purposes.
