Medvedev points out that the US must recognize the “legitimacy” of the invasion of Ukraine after its attack on Venezuela

The vice president of the Security Council and former Russian president, Dimitri Medvedev, pointed out this Friday that the United States must recognize the “legitimacy” of the invasion of Ukraine, after the attack on Venezuela on January 3 that resulted in the arrest of the president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro.

In a message on social networks, Medvedev has called the US intervention in Caracas to remove Maduro from power “rude and vile” and doubts that the United States is interested in larger-scale action in the country, in case the interim authorities refuse to cooperate with Washington.

He emphasizes that the American elites must, after the military operation in Venezuela, “forever stick their long tongues up their stunted rears” and “recognize the legitimacy of Russia’s actions within the framework of the special military operation,” as the Russian leaders refer to the invasion of Ukraine.

In this sense, he warns that a “much bloodier” scenario awaits the United States in Caracas if it intervenes in the event that the Venezuelan authorities do not cooperate to share oil in the long term with the Americans. “Will Trump really initiate a ground operation? In that case, he certainly could not do without Congress, and it would be much bloodier than the brazen kidnapping of Maduro,” he warned.

MATURE LIKE A “LATIN AMERICAN MANDELA”

In any case, Medvedev emphasizes that the only thing left for Maduro’s situation is for Washington to release him “discreetly” and “under some plausible pretext,” or for the Chavista leader to become “a new Latin American Mandela.”

“Then his name will be inscribed on the tables of South American history alongside Bolívar, Miranda and Chávez,” he assured, predicting that this is the most likely scenario.

According to the former Russian president, Maduro will end up being pardoned either by Trump or his successor when he comes under pressure from public opinion.
