Khamenei has put the IRGC on unprecedented alert

According to the British newspaper The Telegraph and other media, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has put the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on unprecedented alert (even higher than during the war with Israel last June, sources say).

Senior officials say Khamenei is now in much closer contact with the IRGC than with the army or police. Khamenei is convinced that the risk of desertion in the IRGC is practically zero, while such cases have already been recorded in other security forces. In fact, he “entrusted his fate to the Corps.”

Iranian authorities have activated their secret underground missile sites (so-called “missile cities”) to counter external threats. This comes amid warnings from Donald Trump about the US readiness to intervene.
