On December 4, the DORH concluded the investigation in the criminal case due to a series of serious threats directed at the editor-in-chief of Morski.hr, Jurica Gašpar. Thus, the state attorney’s office filed three indictments before the Municipal Court in Split.
– On December 23, 2025, the Municipal State Attorney’s Office in Split filed an indictment before the Municipal Court in Split, against three citizens of the Republic of Croatia (born in 1988, 1969 and 1983) for the criminal offense of threat from Article 139, paragraph 3. in connection with paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code, which was started against the journalists of the Internet portal – was confirmed by the Public Prosecutor’s Office in Split for Morski HR. Due to threats and intimidation due to the performance of journalistic work, punishments range from six months to 5 years in prison.
Threats of kidnapping
The editor-in-chief of the Morski HR portal, Jurica Gašpar, and the editorial staff of the portal faced serious threats, including kidnapping, by private shipowners from Krilo Jesenice and their associates. The threats followed a series of articles that discussed illegal activities, the devastation of the coast and the illegal construction of a harbor in Krilo Jesenice.

– Everything started at a recorded meeting with PR agent Ankica Mami, with whom it was supposed to be agreed to “marginalize me and my portal with a carrot and stick” for 100 thousand euros, and with the acquaintance of two ministers to whom she referred herself at that recorded meeting. Surrounded by such a strong company, they transferred their enthusiasm to the WhatsApp group to those who were not at the meeting and subsequently proposed to collect additional money, then kidnap me, take me for a ride in a trunk and take me naked to Vidova Gora on the island of Brač – revealed the editor-in-chief of the Morski.HR portal.
