A pro-Palestinian protest caused the cancellation of a Jewish member of parliament’s visit to a school

According to a report in the “Telegraph” in a post published on Facebook, the activists defined the cancellation of the visit as a “victory for the protection of the students” and as a result of a joint stand by union representatives, parents and activists. They stated that politicians who openly support Israel’s actions in Gaza “are not welcome in our schools.” On the other hand, the school’s spokesperson clarified that Egan was invited as an outstanding graduate of the institution to talk to the students about democracy and the role of the member of parliament. According to him, the decision to postpone the visit was made after the administration learned of plans for a public protest outside the school at the end of the school day. The speaker emphasized that the move was aimed at ensuring the safety of the students and preventing disruptions, and that an alternative date for the visit had been set in coordination with the police.
