In the suspected case of sexual abuse during a medical examination at the clinic in Rathenow, standards of the child protection concept were violated, according to the medical director, Mike Lehsnau. The applicable four-eyes principle was violated. According to KIinik, two employees or one employee and a relative must then be present during the examination. The clinic company did not want to say what kind of treatment it was specifically or how old the child was.

A 45-year-old pediatrician is said to have sexually abused a child while working at the Rathenow clinic. According to the public prosecutor’s office, there is evidence that the man abused even more children.

Parent telephone set up

The suspected case is unsettling parents, patients, employees and the public, said the managing director of the Havelland Kliniken group, Thilo Spychalski. All employees were deeply shocked. According to the clinic group, a parent telephone line has also been set up.

The Havelland clinics with locations in Nauen and Rathenow terminated the doctor. When asked, the company did not want to say how long the doctor had been employed there. The pediatrician has been in custody since November 2025. The police conducted searches at the Rathenow clinic location following a criminal complaint from a mother.
