Iranian state media reported that the 26-year-old man arrested during protests in the city of Karaj will not be executed.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump announced that according to his information, the killings of protesters in Iran have stopped, and the administration has backed away from the intention of executions.
At the same time, Trump again warned that Washington is monitoring the situation. Before that, he had threatened to intervene, including through military means.
People living in Iran told Reuters that the protests appeared to have subsided yesterday and today. Accurate information, however, is difficult to obtain, as telephone and Internet services remain largely unavailable.
