Grmoja: “The Parliamentary Committee for the Judiciary will vote on the President of the Supreme Court on Wednesday”

“I informed the people who work in the Committee for the Judiciary to make an appointment for Wednesday at 11 a.m. We will have a vote on the candidates,” said Grmoja in the Croatian Parliament when asked when the session of the Committee for the Judiciary would take place.

He also thinks that “HDZ doesn’t like it”. “As far as I have seen, they intend to destroy the quorum at the session of the Committee for the Judiciary, but by doing so they will actually show that they are carrying out a certain political trade,” Grmoja assessed.

He stated that the Committee for the Judiciary must adopt a position on the candidates for the president of the Supreme Court, which may be negative. If the Committee for the Judiciary gives a negative opinion, it means that Milanović’s candidate will not pass the Parliament, he explained.

“Then the procedure continues, and this is how we end the system,” he said. He maintains that Prime Minister Andrej Plenković he is working to continue the political trade, that is, to tie the election of the president of the Supreme Court to the election of three constitutional judges.

Grmoja repeated his position that Matić she is not suitable for the position of president of the Supreme Court because of the “tails” that exist behind her.

“This is how they (the left-wing opposition) are tied because they work on orders from Pantovčak”, he said.

Grmoja explained that he convened the session of the Committee for the Judiciary because the hearing of the candidates was held and the Committee must give its opinion on them.

On December 1, the Parliamentary Committee for the Judiciary held a hearing for three candidates for the position of President of the Supreme Court, and Aleksandra Magani, Mirta Matić presented their programs. and Šime Savić.

At the end of the session, the chairman of the Grmoja Committee reported that the classified USKOK letter about the candidate Matić is in the parliamentary safe and that every member of parliament can request to see it in order to have all the information before voting on the new head of the Supreme Court.
