According to various sources, the number of victims of clashes during protests in Iran reaches 3,300 to 5,000.

Of these dead, 3,097 were protesters, 166 of whom were soldiers and law enforcement officers. More than 2100 people were seriously injured. HRANA also reported that more than 24,000 people were arrested during the protests.

The Norway-based “Iranian Human Rights” organization has confirmed the death of at least 3,428 protesters.

Meanwhile, an unnamed Iranian official told Reuters that 5,000 people, including nearly 500 security forces, had been killed in the protests. The official claims that the number of victims may change, but will not increase dramatically.

The protests began on December 28 after another sharp drop in the Iranian currency against the US dollar.
