France will not enter, with the current conditions of the United States, in the Peace Board for Gaza

The sources indicated that the United States had proposed that France join the Peace Board and that they are examining the legal framework with their partners.

In any case, France rejects the current proposal because it considers that it goes beyond the situation in Gaza and raises questions of great relevance, “particularly about respect for the principles and structure of the United Nations that cannot be questioned.”

France, permanent member of the United Nations Security Council wanted to make clear its commitment to the UN Charter and to Resolution 2803, adopted on November 17, 2025, whose main objective is to strengthen the delivery of aid to Gaza.

That resolution refers to a credible path to self-determination and the status of a Palestinian state, and mentions dialogue between Israel and the Palestinians to agree on a political horizon of peaceful and prosperous coexistence.

For this reason, the Elysée insisted that it remains “fully committed to a ceasefire in Gaza and a credible political horizon for the Palestinians and Israelis” and will continue to defend “effective multilateralism.”

Like France, the United States has invited the European Union to join the Gaza Peace Board, as well as the Russian president, Vladimir Putin.

As announced by Washington, the Board will be made up of former British Prime Minister Tony Blair; the North American Secretary of State, Marco Rubio; the White House special envoy, Steve Witkoff, and Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law, among other names.

Trump also invited King Abdullah II of Jordan; to the Turkish president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan; to the Argentine president, the far-right Javier Miley and the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, among others.

The composition of the Executive Board was known after the White House took the step to phase two of the Trump peace plan for Gaza which involves the formation of a government of technocrats in the Strip and the disarmament of the Islamist movement Hamas.
