An ad hoc meeting to “take stock” of the new “security package” which, however, may not be ready for the next meeting of the Council of Ministers. From Seoul, the prime minister Giorgia Meloni returns to the new rules on which the government after having announced them at the press conference at the beginning of the year.

“Already before Christmas I had spoken with Piantedosi about a new provision”, confirms the Prime Minister, “in particular to resolve the problem of ‘baby walk’. I don’t know if it will be ready for the next Council of Ministers, but we intend to work on it soon”, he assures. The Northern League undersecretary for the Interior revealed some of its contents Nicola Molteniwhich explains: the whole security package “is made up of 60 standards which address the issues of 360 degrees safety. They will be included in a decree and a bill. But the provision on edged weapons is ready and therefore we think it can be brought forward.”

Measures against edged weapons and baby gangs

Specifically, it concerns, Molteni reports, the ban on the sale of edged weapons to minors and the introduction of fines of up to 1,000 euros for parents. “We want the empowerment of families. And for minors, we also provide theoptional or flagrant arrest“. There are important aggravating factors: if the crime is committed by a misrepresented person, if done in a group to counteract the herd logic and if there is use of knife near schools, parks, stations or railways.

The League’s priority requests on foreign minors

The Legapressing for rapid approval, raises the issue of the crackdown on ai “foreign delinquent babies”. In addition to the anti-knife law and the introduction of a crime for those who do not stop when the police stop, Salvini’s party wants to include specific innovations for young foreigners who violate the laws. The priority proposals include: stop ai easy family reunionscutting of benefits of hospitality for kids who commit crimes e more effective repatriations for minors arriving in Italy without relatives.

He breaks away from the chorus of criticism Italia Vivawhich says it is ready to support the government’s rules. The vice president David Pharaoh underlines that, if the government puts forward a “progressive and common sense proposal for really limit the spread of knives among young people“, the party will support it.
