Iran disables Starlink and threatens global jihad

The National Security Committee of the Iranian Parliament commented on a statement by US President Donald Trump, who called the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, a “sick man” and called for a change in Iranian leadership.

“Any attack against the supreme leader will mean a declaration of war on the entire Islamic world. In response, we can expect Islamic theologians to declare jihad. The warriors of Islam around the world will answer this call,” says the statement adopted by the deputies.

On January 18, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian issued threats against US President Donald Trump, whom he warned against “any attack” on Iran’s spiritual leader Ali Khamenei. According to Pezeshkian, “any attack against the country’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei is tantamount to an all-out war against the Iranian nation.”

He also said that one of the main reasons for the “difficulties experienced by the Iranian people” are the “inhumane sanctions of the American administration and their allies.”

The UN Human Rights Council will hold an “emergency meeting” on January 23, four weeks after the start of the demonstrations in Iran, on the situation in that country. “The brutality with which opposition speeches are suppressed and human rights violations require an immediate meeting,” he said.
