The Boeing 747 that Trump received from Qatar is expected to enter service in the summer of 2026

An official involved in the project noted that while the luxurious interior design and painting of the plane according to President Trump’s taste will be completed by the summer, it is possible that not all the complex security systems will be installed by the planned date. Despite this, it is estimated that the president will confirm the readiness of the plane due to his strong desire to start using it.

The need for a new plane was highlighted this week when an electrical malfunction in the current presidential jet forced President Trump to return to Washington and switch to a smaller plane on his way to the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. The planes currently in use have served the White House for over 35 years.

The president clarified that the plane will be transferred to his future presidential library after the end of his term in 2029. The Qatari plane joins two other Boeing 747-8s that were previously ordered, but these are not expected to be ready for use before the end of the president’s second term.
