Hezbollah Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem said the group would not remain neutral in the event of a war between the United States and Israel against Iran.
Speaking at an event promoting solidarity with the Islamic Republic, he said several mediators had asked over the past two months whether Hezbollah would intervene if Washington took military action against Tehran. According to Kassem, the mediators also warned of three scenarios: a strike on Hezbollah and then Iran; a strike on Iran, and then on Hezbollah, and a simultaneous strike on both targets.
The Hezbollah leader emphasized that in all options the movement is one of the goals and declared readiness for defense. According to him, the details of the actions and the nature of the intervention will be determined depending on the specific situation, but Hezbollah’s position is clear – it is not neutral.
Qassem also reacted sharply to US President Donald Trump’s assassination threats against Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, saying it undermines the security of millions of people and destabilizes the region.
The Secretary General of Hezbollah accused the United States and Israel of attempting to establish dominance in Lebanon, Gaza, Syria and the entire region as part of a single colonial project aimed at destroying national resistance movements.
