In the Russian Federation, a teenager was sentenced to seven years in prison for “terrorism”

The Second Western District Military Court sentenced a 14-year-old teenager from the Tver region to seven years in prison for preparing to set fire to one of the buildings of the Russian Ministry of Defense, TASS reports with reference to the Public Relations Center of the FSB of Russia and the Investigative Committee.

“The 2nd Western District Military Court convicted a minor Russian citizen born in 2011 for preparing to set fire to one of the administrative buildings of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation using a homemade incendiary device,” the CSO reported.

According to the senior assistant to the head of the investigative department of the Investigative Committee for the Tver Region, Valeria Pavlova, the court sentenced a 14-year-old resident of Vyshny Volochok to seven years in prison in a correctional colony.

According to the FSB, the teenager, through the Telegram messenger, established contact with a representative of a “Ukrainian terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation,”, on the instructions of the curator, conducted reconnaissance of the attack targets and produced three Molotov cocktails, but was detained.

The press service of the Tver Region Prosecutor’s Office stated that on May 8, 2025, the teenager “tried to set fire to the military registration and enlistment office building, but was unable to carry out his plan due to circumstances beyond his control, as he was detained by officers of the Russian FSB Directorate for the Tver Region.”

He was found guilty “of preparing to commit a terrorist act and participating in the activities of a terrorist organization.”
