France supports the inclusion of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards on the European list of terrorist organizations

France supports the inclusion of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in Iran on the European list of terrorist organizations, a source at the Élysée told Le Parisien on Wednesday.

“Reflection is underway with our European partners on the designation of the Revolutionary Guards as a terrorist organization,” indicated earlier the spokesperson for the French government, Maud Bregeon.

The ideological armed wing of the Islamic Republic of Iran is accused by human rights organizations of having orchestrated the deadly repression of the vast protest movement which is shaking the country.

The head of Italian diplomacy Antonio Tajani intends to propose Thursday to his EU colleagues to add the Revolutionary Guards to the European list of terrorist organizations.
