Trump and the phone call to Putin: "He accepted the request not to strike Kiev for a week"

“Due to the extreme cold, I personally asked President Putin not to open fire on Kiev and other cities for a week during this period and he agreed to do so. And I must say, it was very nice.” This was stated by the President of the United States, Donald Trump, speaking at the meeting of his government.

“Many said, ‘Don’t waste the phone call. You won’t get it’. And he did, and we’re very happy that they did, because on top of everything else, that’s not what they need, missiles hitting their cities. So I thought, I should say I thought this was a very, very good thing, and Ukraine almost didn’t believe it, but they were very happy about it, because they’re fighting hard,” he added.
