Saudi Arabia refused to include Turkey in its military alliance with Pakistan

The clarification comes after a Turkish official hinted earlier this month that Ankara is considering the possibility of joining the Saudi-Pakistani security framework, which sparked speculation about the establishment of a powerful military axis in the Middle East amid growing regional tensions. The security relations between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan are long-standing and based on deep strategic cooperation.

Pakistan is traditionally seen as providing a “security umbrella” to the Saudi kingdom, including stationing troops on its soil and assisting with military training, while Saudi Arabia provides Islamabad with financial support and energy guarantees.

Despite this rapprochement, the current announcement makes it clear that Riyadh seeks to preserve the separation between its various security relationships and prevent the creation of multinational military blocs that could increase tensions with Iran or other powers in the region.
