An Israeli woman has been under arrest for more than 10 days in Istanbul for insulting Turkish symbols.

An Israeli citizen was detained in Istanbul more than ten days ago on suspicion of insulting the Turkish flag, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the “State of Palestine.”

GeBeTe TV reported that the woman was detained in Taksim Square. The channel’s blog published a photograph showing a police officer escorting a detainee to the station.

According to available information, the woman traveled to Turkey alone. Her family is aware of the situation and is making efforts to resolve the case as quickly as possible.

The Foreign Ministry confirmed that it is aware of the case, which is being handled by the Department of Israelis Abroad.
